Amy Bauer - Shodan
After having explored Western martial arts (archery, firearms and Eurpoean fencing) on and off throughout her life, Amy has recently become interested in the philosophical and physical benefits offered by Japanese budo. She began her training in aikido at Northeast Aikikai in April 2001, and has found life getting better every day since. She is happily married to her sempai Colin Bauer, also an instructor at Northeast Aikikai, whom she met on the mat.
She also trains in Muso Shinden style iaido, as taught through the North American Sanshinkai curriculum.

Off the mat, Amy develops instrumentation to measure the composition of airborne samples, largely to keep people safe from hazardous aerosols. She is also mother to Ian, her twelve year old son. Amy enjoys hiking, scuba diving, and taking adventurous vacations.

Amy teaches childrens classes on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings.
