Methuen Aikido Children’s Program Newsletter
April, 2004

Dear Parents,

Due to the popularity of the Methuen Children’s Aikido program, attendance for each class has been growing steadily. That growth in attendance is very welcomed as it is important to the success of our dojo. The size of some recent classes has become challenging however.

In order for me to give your child the attention that they deserve, I have decided to increase the number of children’s classes each week. I will be arranging the classes by age group and rank.

Starting on April 3rd the schedule will change as follows:

On Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, I will hold class from 4:30 to 5:15 pm for children who are 9 years old or younger. I will hold a second class those same days for anyone who is 10 years old or older, or anyone who has achieved an orange belt or greater. That second class will run from 5:15 to 6:15 pm. The Saturday morning class will be a combined class and will continue to run from 9:00 to 10:30 am.

I want to offer your child attainable challenges to keep them motivated. I also want to keep an environment that the student finds enjoyable. This new format will allow me the flexibility to use teaching methods properly suited for the students in each category.

I will be using the age grouping as a guideline to help determine the best placement for your child. If this schedule change makes it more difficult for you to bring your child to class please speak with me about changing their placement. I will be flexible about this with any student already in our program.

Thank you in advance for your continuing support.

Sincerely,
Sensei Dore
